Morning stiffness & back pain is VERY common in those who are suffering a disc bulge/herniation.  

This is because the spine naturally decompresses with sleep.  When you get up in the AM, you’ll notice your lower back is tight, stiff, and uncomfortable but you should not stretch it.

Instead, you should get some gentle movement into the spine first thing in the day!  If you don’t do this or if you get out of bed the “usual” you are likely hurting your own low back without knowing It when you get up in the morning!
